Giving to Our Community

The staff and singers of The Orlando Chorale believe in making Central Florida a better place to live by giving back to our community.

Along with providing our audiences with the finest music performed by the finest musicians, we are committed to donation, education and recognition:

Donation Collection for Charities

At the end of every TOC concert, members of The Chorale will greet audience members at the door with an opportunity to make a donation to a local charity. All funds received through these free-will donations will be turned over to the charity chosen for that concert. Since its founding, The Chorale has raised thousands of dollars for local and national charities. Past Benefitting Charities have included:

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children
Center for Change
First United Methodist Church of Orlando Music Program
Hope and Help of Central Florida

Education

From the very first rehearsal, The Orlando Chorale instituted a program called the Young Artists Choral Scholarship. This unique program provides an opportunity for up to 4 local high school students to sing with The Chorale for one season.

The Artistic Intern Program was instituted in 2004 to give young conductors an opportunity to work with The Chorale and learn music, programming, conducting and all the facets of running a community arts organization. Interns have included:

Matthew Bumbach (2004-05)
Jason Misner (2005-06 and 2006-07)
Holly Hodges (2006-07 and 2007-08)

In 2006 the Emerging Composers Initiative was created. This unique program offers unpublished composers an opportunity to have their works performed by The Chorale as well as work with the music staff on revisions and performance suggestions. A recording of the performance is given to the composer for his/her professional development and archives.

Central Florida, we appreciate your support, and promise that
you will have our full support in return. Thank you!
