Allison Novak

Allison Novak is a native of Channahon, Illinois.  She holds a B.M. in Voice Performance and Commercial Music, with Honors from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.  At Millikin she was very involved with the opera department and honors program.  She was also a member of the University Choir under the direction of Dr. Brad Holmes.  Through the University Choir she was honored to have performed around the country, including venues such as the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and the 2007 ACDA National Convention in Miami, Florida.

For her two-year Honors project she composed a seven song cycle on the Biblical Creation utilizing different 20th Century composition techniques moving from completely atonal and aleatoric, to very tonal as the earth was created.
She spent the summer of 2006 as a student at Scuola Italia, in Urbania, Italy.  Here she studied the Italian language, diction, and opera.  She also performed the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Bramante and Museo Diocesano in Urbania.

She lives with her cat in Orlando and is currently employed by Walt Disney World.  She plans on getting her Masters degree in either Choral Conducting or Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.
