Young Artists Choral Scholarship

The Orlando Chorale, Central Florida's choral ensemble for professional and experienced singers, announces applications for the second annual Young Artists Choral Scholarship. The Scholarship is open to all juniors and seniors in public and private high schools in Central Florida. Students must be recommended by their school choral director and successfully complete a live vocal audition for The Chorale staff.

No more than 4 scholarships will be given each season, with preference given to one per vocal part. Students who receive the scholarship will sing in rehearsals and performances with The Orlando Chorale, on scholarship, for one season.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for a Young Artists Choral Scholarship, a student must:

  • be in his/her junior or senior year in a public or private high school during the concert season, and maintain a "C" average in all classes while singing with The Orlando Chorale;
  • submit the Teacher Recommendation from his/her high school choral director;
  • satisfactorily pass a competitive vocal audition for The Orlando Chorale staff;
  • commit to attending all rehearsals and performances of The Orlando Chorale (exceptions are made for concerts by the student's high school ensembles).
Benefits

Student recipients of the Young Artists Choral Scholarship will:

  • sing with professional and experienced adult singers in a performance-based setting;
  • learn appropriate vocal technique, good choral singing, high quality choral repertoire, and good performance practices while in rehearsal with The Chorale;
